Tomorrow I'm traveling by cargo ship to Iquitos, the largest city in the world not accessible by road. It takes about 3 days to reach this city far off the beaten path after an epic journey from Yurimaguas along a vast tributary system of the Amazon River. This morning I was starting to get second thoughts allowing irrational fears creep into my anxious mind. Then I went for a walk, ate breakfast, drank coffee, flew the drone, and reminded myself that life begins at the edge of your comfort zone. I can't turn down this unique once-in-a-lifetimeopportunity.

As people continue to realize that it sucks being confined to a cubicle farm for the remainder of their lives, more people will pursue the digital nomad lifestyle and travel the world while working from anywhere.

Enjoying the moment, here and now, is the key to true contentment. With so many distractions vying for our attention these days. From social media to email to friends and family, this is something I'm continually improving at. I'm learning so much from books and the fellow wandering souls I meet along the way. Acquire experiences, not things.

The journey around Quilotoa Lake was truly one of the most beautiful hiking experiences of my life so far, and Ecuador is definitely my favorite country I've visited during my South America tour.

The digital nomad is a growing new movement given credence by famous authors, entrepreneurs, and marketing professionals. I'm currently staying at Masaya Hostel in Quito, Ecuador for a few days as a partial trade for professional photos. It's definitely the most luxurious hostel I've stayed at during my travels so far!
